Boot lid - expletive

Deciding to have the boot lid and bonnet fitted before deliver was a good idea.

I just had to fit the number plate light and gas struts.

However ....

I forgot that Andy at GD had told me the wires for the number plate light were pre-fitted and hidden in-between the inner and outer skin.

They were also hidden behind some masking tape. The cables start behind the number plate light location - a 10mm hole in the outer skin, some fine tweezers and a lot of patience should find them.

The other end is behind the near side hinge bracket plate. They need jointing to reach the light fitting. I have heard that some people rip the whole cable out and start again.

To get the cable into the boot to connect with the body loom the cable can be run in a slot in the rear of the hinge. So far I have tie-wrapped them to the hinge later,when I know everything is working, I may look at a more unobtrusive solution.
